As an environmentally friendly fuel, low-sulfur ship fuel accounts for more than 55% of Sinopec’s direct supply to Shanghai Port, providing guarantee for Shanghai to become a shipping economic center in Asia and even the world.

Enrich the types of “green products” and update the public’s original understanding and experience of petrochemical products. In December 2022, the first batch of 150 tons of odor-free asphalt from Gaoqiao Petrochemical was successfully used in Shanghai municipal road construction. The laying location is located in the elevated section of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Transportation Hub, surrounded by many schools, shopping malls, and communities. The clean-odor asphalt greatly reduces the odor during the construction process, winning praise from on-site construction workers and gradually changing the public's impression of the pungent odor during asphalt paving construction.

Continuous transformation to green and low-carbon production processes

Be a "vanguard" in pioneering green and low-carbon projects. In 2021, my country's first full-life-cycle carbon-neutral oil certification was carried out. Carbon-neutral oil was processed at Gaoqiao Petrochemical, carbon-neutral gasoline and carbon-neutral diesel were introduced to the society, and China Eastern Airlines worked together to create carbon-neutral flights. Gaoqiao Petrochemical was also the first company to transact in the Shanghai carbon trading market. It actively responded to the initiative and voluntarily reduced its carbon emissions on National Low Carbon Day. In 2021, Gaoqiao Petrochemical took the lead in completing the quota settlement in the first performance period of the national carbon emissions trading market, becoming the first Sinopec company to complete the national carbon market compliance, and also the first batch in the country and the first in Shanghai to complete the compliance. enterprise.

Accelerate innovation-driven hydrogen energy industrialization. Sinopec's first experimental device with independent property rights that can produce fuel cell-grade high-purity hydrogen was successfully launched at Gaoqiao Petrochemical. It can produce high-purity hydrogen with a purity of 99.999% for fuel cell vehicles and is operational. The results show that it has the advantages of low investment, small footprint, and low energy consumption, and solves the cost bottleneck of high-quality hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles.

Through projects such as ultra-low emission transformation of flue gas from self-owned power plants, transformation of power supply coal-consuming units, transformation of catalytic cracking desulfurization and denitrification, transformation of sulfur standards, and low-nitrogen transformation of heating furnaces, various major air pollutant emission indicators have been qualitatively improved, reaching advanced level. It has won the honorary title of "Green Enterprise" of Sinopec for three consecutive years and the "Advanced Unit of Sinopec in Environmental Protection" for many years.

Implement a series of environmental protection projects. In the past three years, Gaoqiao Petrochemical has focused on odor and VOCs control, including projects such as rainwater and sewage diversion transformation, catalytic colored smoke plume control, and terminal oil leakage monitoring. The total emissions of major pollutants have been significantly reduced. The emissions of chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds have dropped by 14.7%, 28.1%, 9.3%, 11.06%, and 5.1% year-on-year. Significantly enhanced.

Build a "green skynet" for urban factories. Gaoqiao Petrochemical will add 20 VOCs monitoring micro-stations in 2022 to form a grid monitoring system to achieve "full coverage, all-weather, and whole-process" monitoring of key areas of the plant. The monitoring system has been continuously improved, and VOCs online monitoring facilities have been set up for 12 key installations, LDAR online monitoring has been implemented for 236 inaccessible points, and 3 atmospheric stations have been set up around the factory boundary to integrate monitoring, forecasting and early warning and emergency linkage functions.
